Menagerie Farms is a family-owned dairy goat farm in Upstate New York. We are a third-generation dairy goat farm. The farm started in the mid-seventies. The original goat was obtained due to a health problem that created a need for non lactose milk for one of the children.  There wasn't a source of fresh goat milk in the area so Ellie the goat helped to keep Katie, the infant, alive.  As the children grew older the goats became 4-H projects that taught too many lessons to list.  The goats used to be strictly show goats at that point but now are more on the production side. 

The farm uses sustainable agriculture practices, which have been handed down through the generations, to ensure the herd is healthy which helps them meet their maximum potential. Each goat is hand-picked to strengthen the herd. We hand select bucks to breed our ladies with that improve conformation, temperament and dairy type in order to enhance our herd with the next generation. The girls are a mixture of breeds in order to achieve our goals.
